OUR HISTORY
Behind Muringakandy group there are nearly seven decades of sheer wood expertise. The group was founded by Mr. Mammad Koya in the year 1950 at Kallai which was once the second largest market for timber products in the world. It was initially started as a small outlet for trading various species of timber logs available in all over the region.
Later in 1957, the group established its first Saw Mill in order to deliver the demanding customer’s with sawn timber. After the passing of the founder in 1980, the current chairman, Mr. Abdul Rahiman has taken the lead in nourishing the group by holding all the principles, values, ethics and morales once left by his late father. In a short span of time with all the hard work, dedication and effort of the current chairman, the group started growing with a remarkable pace into a considerably sized business venture with diversified activities.
Today, the group is lead and supported by the Chairman and his son’s whose dynamic and effective leadership has made MURINGAKANDY GROUP what you see today - a major presence in the timber-plywood sector in North Kerala.
